In the peaceful early morning hours of Monday Oct. 9, 2023, Ken Dax, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed into eternal life.
Ken was born on January 17, 1946, to Edmund & Pearl Dax. He spent an idyllic childhood growing up in Luxemburg, WI. In 1964 he graduated from Luxemburg High School where he was an excellent athlete participating in football, basketball & track. He married Bonnie Englebert & raised three children; Paula, Jeff & Heather all of whom made him an extremely proud Dad.
On Sept. 27, 1996, he married Katherin Tiedemann and became a loving stepfather & role model to her two young children; Maren & Jimmy. Ken & Kathy were loving partners & inseparable friends.
Above all, Ken was a man of deep, enduring faith and a proud Christian. He was involved in the Catholic Cursillo, was a Parish Council President, lector and Eucharistic minister at various parishes, most recently Resurrection Catholic Church in Allouez.
Ken was a talented leader & motivator who developed & mentored many young professionals throughout his 30+ years in management at Wisconsin Public Service. He led the development of the corporate wide Customer Call Center and retired in 2005 as the Green Bay Division Accountant/Corporate Call Center Manager.
Ken enjoyed watching the Packers and like his father before him was an avid Yankee fan (much to the dismay of Kathy’s Brewer loving family). Throughout his life Ken enjoyed playing fast pitch softball for the 616 Club, boating, skiing, fishing, bird hunting, bowling & the annual “Tiger Hunters” snowmobile outing. Ken & Kathy enjoyed golf and were members at Wander Springs Golf Course where they developed many valued friendships.
Ken was well known for his beautiful deep voice, his sense of humor and colorful attire.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Paula (Ted) Krueger, Cedarburg, WI, Jeff (Sandi) Dax, De Pere, WI, Heather (Kevin) Haase, Winneconne, WI, Maren Mueller (Bryan Harris), Tempe, AZ, & Jim (Kelly) Mueller, Jackson, WI; grandchildren, Jake (Wally) Wallestad-Dax, Andrew (Jennifer) Dax, Bennett Jossart, Kenzie Jossart, Lilly Haase, Kolby Haase & Cami Mueller. He is further survived by his brother, Darrell Dax; mother-in-law, Irene Tiedemann; sisters-in-law, Pat Tiedemann & Susan Tiedemann (Paul Schlindwein), brother-in-law, Rusty (Ellen) Tiedemann; and his beloved nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cindy Dax-Pagel; sister-in-law, Sally Dax; and father-in-law, Russ Tiedemann.
Visitation will be held at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Dr., on Friday, October 13, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Funeral Mass 11:30 a.m. Friday at the church with Rev. Tom Reynebeau officiating. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Luxemburg. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.
