Kenneth James Schneider, 84, of Denmark, passed away August 11, 2020, surrounded by his family. The son of the late Clem and Florence (Dantinne) Schneider was born on June 27, 1936, in New Franken, WI. He graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1954. As a veteran Ken served in the US Army for 3 years until his discharge in 1957. He married the former Adele Peters on August 20, 1958, at Holy Cross catholic Church and together celebrated 61 years of marriage.

 Ken and Adele were very active Catholics, for whom the Eucharist, the Sacraments, praying the Rosary was important in their lives. He thanks God for his participation in SS. Cyril and Methodius Faith Community, Holy Trinity Parish, and Prince of Peace Catholic Community where he helped prepare couples for marriage and served at many funerals. His hobbies included playing cards (cribbage, Sheepshead, 5 Crowns), and being a handyman for his sons and grandchildren, whenever help was needed. He was especially fond of his grandchildren and great grandchildren, always ready to attend athletic events and birthday parties, choir, and theatre performances.

 Ken was an active member of the Fr. Platta Council Knights of Columbus in Denmark, serving as Grand Knight and Treasurer for many terms. He enjoyed making “Booyah for Vocations” with his brother knights and their spouses. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, never missing a home game at City Field or Lambeau and was a season ticket holder since 1957 and an Ice Bowl attendee.

 Ken was a successful businessman, serving Delwiche Dairy, Murphy Supply, Englewood Electric, and Denmark State Bank while owning Schneider’s Country Store in the township of Eaton.

 Survivors include his wife, Adele, and their six children: Michael (Barb) of Freedom and their son Ryan (Marit) Scherer; Fr. Kevin S.J. of Omaha; Keith of Green Bay and sons Tony & Drew; Gregg (Ann) of Mequon and daughter Andrea; Dr. David (Kathy) of DePere and children Jake (Kristi), Sam, Alex, Alana; Steve (Sharon) of Appleton and their sons Duncan, Drake and Duleon; 6 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Winnie Massey and Sr. Florita Schneider, OSF; two Sisters-in-law, Janet (Bob) Kaster and Dory Peters; two Brothers-in-Law, Larry (Claire) Peters and John Koch, many nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.

 In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by three brothers: Fr. Clement Schneider, S.J., Roger (Pauline) Schneider and William (Doris) Schneider; granddaughter, Cassandra Marie Schneider; brother-in-law, Melvin Massey; three sisters-in-law,Theresa (Warren) Pensis, Mary (Francis) Herman and Joanne Koch; brother-in-law, Glenn Peters and his in-laws, Norbert and Catherine (Berken) Peters.

 Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. from 4:00 – 8:00 pm Sunday, August 16. A Knights of Columbus memorial service will be held at 7:20 pm with the parish wake service at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday after 9:30 am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Rd. until 10:45 am. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Monday at the church with Ken’s son, Fr. Kevin Schneider S.J. officiating. The Mass will be live streamed on the parish Facebook page: popgb54311. Burial in SS Cyril and Methodius Cemetery, Eaton.
