Kenneth Joseph “Ken” Van Lanen, 80, of Green Bay died Saturday, December 23, 2023, following a brief illness. He was born December 15, 1943, in Green Bay to the late Wilbert and Marie (De Grand) Van Lanen.

Ken was a graduate of Green Bay East High School, Class of 1962. He served in the National Guard for six years. On April 27, 1968, he married Caroline Faltynski at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church. She preceded him in death in June of 1994. On March 23, 2001, he married Carol (Brice) Micolichek in Green Bay. Ken was a steamfitter for the Local #298, and later for the Local #400. He loved bowling and was an active member of the Thursday night leagues at Willow Creek Lanes. Ken also enjoyed traveling. He and Carol traveled to Canada, Niagara Falls, South Dakota, and Las Vegas, and going camping for many years.

Ken is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Chad Van Lanen (friend Rowdy Bentham), Lisa (Bret) McDermid, Tina (Jeff) Lonzo, Bob (Carla) Brice, Ken (Denise) Brice, Bill (Jodi) Brice, and Tammy (John) DeCoursin; 16 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren (with two more on the way); a sister, Theresa (John) Rennels; three half-sisters, Karen Van Lanen, Michelle Harry, and Barb (Darin) Angstadt; step-brothers and step-sisters, Cindy (Steve) Metzler, Dee Dee (Craig) La Tourneau, Linda De Grand, Helen Van Pay, Bill De Grand, and Glen (Jackie) De Grand; brothers-in-law, James Delfosse and Gary Krawczyk; a sister-in-law, Corale Faltynski; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Caroline; his sisters, Shirley (Roger) Clark, Judy Krawczyk; his stepmother, Marcella Van Lanen; a stepdaughter, Annette Hicks, and two stepbrothers, Jerry and Jim De Grand; sisters-in-law, Gloria Kriescher, Yvonne Delfosse, and Patsy (Warren) Dugan; brothers-in-law, Francis (Barbara) Faltynski, Robert (Verona) Faltynski, George Faltynski, and Walter Faltynski.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street, on Saturday, December 30th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
