Lisa M. (Erieau) Byrd, 55, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 7, 2023, with her family by her side after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer.  She was born on February 28, 1968, in Green Bay, the daughter of Steven Erieau and the late Susan Erieau.  Lisa graduated from Preble High School in 1986. She married Charles Byrd on April 5, 2003, and resided in Howard where they raised 3 children.

Lisa loved spending time with family and friends, telling stories and sharing a laugh.  She especially loved spending time with her precious grandchildren who meant the world to her.  Lisa enjoyed spending early morning walks with her dog, Buddy, on the Mountain Bay Trail. She also enjoyed fishing, baking pies, and cookies or making crafts.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; children, Kristy (Joe) Ciha, Cory (fiancé, Allie Smith) Dequaine and Nathan Byrd; grandchildren, Carter, Adalyn, Daxx and Bennett; father, Steven Erieau; brothers, Jeff (fiancé, Laurie Young) Van Frachen, Jessie (fiancé, Jackie Vanden Heuvel) Van Frachen, Todd (Tina) Erieau and Patrick (Stacey) Van Frachen; sisters, Tammy (Jay) Van Laanen, Shannon Van Frachen and Tracy (Brent) Buboltz; mother-in-law, Priscilla Byrd, brother-in-law, William (Debra Wilbur) Byrd; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Susan Erieau; father-in-law, Richard Byrd.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.  Funeral service 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at Fort Howard Memorial Park.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.

The family extends a special thank you to Aurora’s nursing and hospice team for their compassion.  The family would like to especially thank Dr. Nirav Patel and the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center who showed her compassion and friendship throughout her cancer journey.
