Margaret (Cieslewicz) Sigmund

Margaret (Cieslewicz) Sigmund, 92, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 16, 2021, with her devoted family at her bedside.

Born April 23, 1929, to Max and Rose (Piszczek) Cieslewicz, Margaret was raised in the Town of Eaton on the family farm.  On June 18, 1960, she married James Clifford Sigmund at SS. Cyril & Methodius. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was a talented seamstress by trade and loved gardening and cooking.  Margaret took pride in being a homemaker. 

She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Jim Sigmund; four children and their spouses, Maria and Dan Halverson, Chris and Kelly Sigmund, Brian and Debra Sigmund, Andrea and Troy Marrick; six grandchildren, Dustin McAllister, Colin and Evan Sigmund, Alex Sigmund, Owen and Keira Marrick; one great-grandchild, Sawyer McAllister; her brothers, Cyril and Henry (Mary) Cieslewicz; sisters, Gertrude (Russ) Lotto, Susie Olejniczak; a sister-in-law Mary Ann Cieslewicz; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, Alex (Helen), Chester (Irene) (Betty), Sylvester (Kathleen) (Esther), Jerome (Joan), Joseph, Leonard (Geneva), and three sisters-in-law, Joanie Cieslewicz, Jeanette (Fred) Schwartz and Lucille (Larry) Hujet; and a brother-in-law, Francis Olejniczak.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:55 a.m. on Thursday at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria St.   The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church with Rev. Bill Hoffman officiating.  Burial will be in SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Cemetery.  Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family.  To send online condolences visit www.prokowall.com
