Mary DeCremer

Mary A. DeCremer, 73, Green Bay, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on Thursday morning, August 20, 2020.  She was born on November 25, 1946 in Green Bay to the late Raymond and Lorraine (Liebmann) VanVenRoy.  Mary was a 1965 graduate of Preble High School.  On November 9, 1974, she married Francis “Fran” DeCremer at St. Willebrord Catholic Church in Green Bay; he preceded her in death on July 30, 1992.  Mary worked for 30 years at St. Vincent Hospital as a nurse’s aide.  She then worked for 15 years as an emergency room registrar at Aurora BayCare Medical Center until her retirement in 2015.  Alongside her husband and mother-in-law, Dora, she worked at Frandora Supper Club in various capacities.  Mary enjoyed crafting, going to the casino, playing cards and Bingo.  She also enjoyed going out to eat with friends and attending family events.  Mary was a caring person who would go out of her way to help others.

She is survived by her sister, Janet (John) Royce; nieces and nephews, Chris (Melissa) Royce, Erin Royce, Brian VanVenRoy, Scott McCartney and Carrie (Tony) Cahak; best friend, Sandy Breukelman; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, David and Dale VanVenRoy; sister and brother-in-law, Barb and Ted McCartney; nephew, Brad VanVenRoy; mother-in-law, Dora DeCremer.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Monday, August 24, 2020 from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue on Tuesday at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 514 Clay St. at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jon Zabell officiating.  Entombment will take place at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.
