Mary Edith Doorley, 93, died Monday, May 16, 2022, following a brief illness. She was born October 18, 1928, in Green Bay to Harry and Irene (Miller) Wilson.
Edith grew up on the family farm in Mill Center. She attended UW Oshkosh to study journalism. On May 10, 1958, she married William Doorley in Seymour. They moved to their home in Allouez to raise their family. William preceded her in death on June 27, 1989. Edith was member St. Matthew Catholic Parish. She will be remembered for being an avid reader, gardener, and a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Edith is survived by her children, John (Lisa) Doorley, Joan (William) Smart, and Elizabeth (Richard) Goldberg; her grandchildren, Amy (Tim) Smart-Dumouchel, Andy (Casey Tice) Smart, RJ Goldberg, Michael Doorley, and Mark (Tania) Doorley; her great-grandchildren, Colin, Ian, Isaac, and one more on the way.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph, her husband William, and her parents.
Friends may call at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew Street, on Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Robert Kabat officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. On-line condolences may be given at www.prokowall.com.
