Mary Ann (Costello) Josephson, 90, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023.  She was born March 21, 1933, in Marinette to George and Anne (Wiederhold) Costello.  Mary attended Our Lady of Lourdes High School which later became Marinette Central in 1951.  On August 7, 1954, she married James W. Josephson at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Marinette. Mary and Jim started their marriage years with Jim doing a tour of duty in the Army.  They then lived in Houghton, Michigan while Jim attended Michigan Tech University.   The couple had been married for 64 years when Jim passed away on February 11, 2019.

After Mary and Jim moved to Green Bay, Mary worked at the White Store, and later at Hansen’s Dairy on East Mason.  She was a longtime member of St. Philip the Apostle Parish.  Mary gathered with her “Coffee Clutch” for over 60 years, sharing coffee, dessert and conversation with her lady friends.  She was an avid Packer fan, and by far her favorite player was #4, Brett Favre.

She is survived by her four beloved children, Mike (Gail) Josephson, Green Bay; Kathy (Ken) Vorpahl, Bonduel; Pat Josephson, De Pere; Tim (Theresa) Josephson, Pulaski; her grandchildren, Andy (Lindsey Rigby) Josephson, Amanda (Lucas) Schulz, Leah Jossart, Nic (Sandi) Hermann, Ashley Vorpahl, Nina Josephson and Jordyn Josephson; a great-grandson, Oliver who was born in August; many other relatives and friends.  Mary and Jim spent many happy vacations in Hawaii, meeting numerous friends including Deb Moretto and special Ohana (Hawaiian for Family) Kirk Togashi.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Tommy Josephson who died on Christmas Day 1964.  This year they celebrate together with Jesus.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, John Patrick Costello, a sister who passed away at the age of 4, Beverly Costello; and two brothers, George M. (Ruth) and Thomas (Donna) Costello; other relatives and friends.

The family will gather with family and friends for a Celebration of Life and Sharing of Memories at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2024, at The Ravine Banquet Hall, 2633 Manitowoc Road.  Mary will be laid to rest in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.  To send online condolences visit www.prokowall.com.

Mary’s children extend a special thank you to the staff and residents at Renaissance by Rennes in De Pere for their friendship, compassion and care during Mary’s stay there, and to the First Floor Staff of Aurora Baycare and Aurora Hospice for making her final journey peaceful.
