Marye Jeanne Sylvia (Herrmann) Van Boxel, 88, passed away peacefully at Tender Hearts Assisted Living on Monday, November 7, 2022. She was born in Shawano, WI on August 12, 1934, to the late August and Maebelle (Cleveland) Herrmann.

Marye graduated from Shawano High School in 1952. She married Robert G. “Bob” Van Boxel on Sept. 18, 1954, in Shawano, WI.

Marye was a wonderful Mom to her four children, who will miss her dearly. She treasured time spent with family and friends, especially at the cabin. She enjoyed sewing, especially sewing clothes for her daughters’ collection of Barbie dolls, and the constant repairs to her son’s jeans. She loved playing games with her grandkids and going on 4-wheeler rides with them. She taught them to bake pies, cookies, and mashed potato donuts. Marye was famous for her fried chicken and homemade hot fudge sauce.

Marye is survived by one son, Tim (Becky) Van Boxel; three daughters, Wendy Henseleit, Jody (Kevin) Nourigat, and Jan (Paul) Mayer. She is also survived by her sister, Barb Mommaerts; her grandchildren, Jamie (Simon) Van Boxel, Jason (Kate) Van Boxel, Trista (Benji) Johnson, Alissa (Kyle) Miller, Casey Zimmerman, Sarah (Ben) Maroszek, Holly Nourigat, Laura Bender, Jacob (Sarah) Mayer, Joshua (Lauren) Mayer, and Jordyn (Mike) Zirk; her great-grandchildren, Micah, Ava, Eli and Justin Johnson, Eugene and Frank Van Boxel, Jace and Beau Miller, Dahlia and Nathan Maroszek, Noah and Ruby Bender, Peyton, Macie, Bauer and Amiah Mayer and Eleanor Zirk; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and close friends.

Marye was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bob. Also preceding her in death were her parents, August and Maebelle (Cleveland) Herrmann; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lambert and Mabel (Pagel) Van Boxel; brother and sister in-law, Bill and Ione Herrmann; brother- in-law, Dick Mommaerts; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Conrad and LaVerne Keidatz, Ron and Joyce Lardinois; and son-in-law, Ron Henseleit.
