Michelle L. Heeler, 35, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.  She was born November 20, 1985, in Menomonie, WI to Michael Schmit and Ann Hill.

Michelle was a graduate of Menomonie High School, Class of 2004. She was active on the school swim team and as a member of Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), where she received many awards on the local, state, and national levels for projects she was involved with. Michelle graduated from UW Stout with a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies 2008, and a master’s degree in Family Studies and Human Development in 2012. During her time at UW Stout, she met the love of her life, Kyle Heeler. After college, Michelle moved to Green Bay and began working at Family Services of Wisconsin, working with teenage mothers. On October 15, 2011, she married Kyle in Oshkosh at the Paine Art Center & Gardens. Currently, Michelle worked for Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity as Volunteer and Family Services Director. There she had built many long lasting friendships with families. During her time there, she helped fifty families find affordable, stable housing and worked with them from the moment of application to dedication. Michelle loved giving back to her community by volunteering her time helping families, getting gifts and aid to families in need, and going above and beyond at her job.

Family was everything to Michelle. Spending time up north, planning family events, holidays, her kid’s birthdays; her love for everyone made everyone family to her. She enjoyed spending her time sewing, crafting, cooking, baking, on-line shopping, decorating, and planning any event to keep family together. In 2019, she planned the entire trip her family took to Walt Disney World.

Michelle is survived by the love of her life, Kyle; their children, Macie and Fletcher; her mother, Ann (David) Hill, her father, Michael Schmit; her sister-in-law, Kari (Matthew) Stewart; brother-in-law, Craig (Rachael) Heeler; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gary and Linda Heeler; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many good friends.
