Norbert Cravillion

Norbert H. Cravillion, 81, New Franken, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021.  He was born on October 22, 1939, in Algoma to the late Jule and Adeline (Vandermeuse) Cravillion.  Norbert was a graduate of Casco High School.  On October 22, 1960, he married Ethel Jacobs at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bay Settlement.  She preceded him in death on September 26, 2000. He worked at Zolpher Construction and Hoida Lumber along with being a dairy farmer until his retirement in 2001.  He enjoyed working on cars, tractors and listening to Polka music.  Norbert also enjoyed gathering with family and friends and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandson, Logan.  He had the gift to gab and would talk to just about anyone.  Norbert spent many days with his dog, Sadie.  He was a goodhearted man and would help anyone out at a moment’s notice.

He is survived by his children, Debbie (Don) Brice, Jackie (Glen) DeGrand, Dan “Butch” (Stephanie) Cravillion, Brenda (special friend, Tim Vincent) Cravillion, Denise Andrus and Vicki Cravillion; grandchildren, Ashley (Tyler) Dorner and their son, Logan, Jessica (Matt) Michiels, Adam (Erin) DeGrand, and Jason (Yulissa) DeGrand; sister, Mary Ann Kinjerski; sisters-in-law, Carol Cravillion, Marie Cravillion, Diane Jacobs and Rosemary Jacobs; special friend, Marge Strebel; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and spouse, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie J. Cravillion; grandchildren, Alex DeGrand and Robin Brice; sister, Patricia Cravillion; brothers, Bernard and Richard Cravillion; son-in-law, James Andrus; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021, at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum Chapel, 2770 Bay Settlement Rd, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Friday at the mausoleum.  Entombment will take place after the service.  Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.
