Richard La Tour

Richard Joseph La Tour, 82, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019. He was born in Green Bay on February 2, 1937, to the late Homer and Marie (Casey) La Tour. Richard graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1955. On May 23, 1964, Richard married Joan Wesley at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Green Bay. He excelled in sports in High School and was granted a scholarship to play football at the University of Marquette. Richard was a little league baseball coach for over 20 years and had the opportunity to coach all his sons. He also took great pride in watching his children and grandchildren play sports over the years. Richard’s greatest joy was his family and spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Joan La Tour; children, David (Jyl) La Tour, Texas, Michael (Cheri) La Tour, Craig (Jen Fibiger) La Tour, and Matthew La Tour; five grandchildren, Ryan and Madison La Tour, Alexis (Bill) Moore and David La Tour, and Brant La Tour; one great-grandson, Jackson Moore; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Stan Bogucki, Joan La Tour, and Carla Linssen. He is further survived by Joan’s brother and sister, William (Judie) Wesley and Mary Harms-Franey; along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Richard was preceded in death by his sister and brothers, Nancy Bogucki, Thomas La Tour, and Harry La Tour.

According to Richard’s wishes, private family services will be held. Entombment will be in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Vincent Oncology 2nd Floor, especially Nicole Spaeth; also the staff at 6th Floor ICU, and especially Patty, for all the care they gave to Richard and his family.
