Paul Jensen, Sr.

Paul C. Jensen, Sr., 85, De Pere, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.  He was born on September 5, 1936, in Madison, WI to the late Nels and Florence (Dilley) Jensen.  Paul graduated from Madison East High School in 1954.  He then enlisted in the U.S. Army, Corps of Engineers, as a welder.  Paul worked construction of guided missile ranges from southern United States, through the Bahamas, to the west coast of Africa.  He also built helicopter landing pads used for training at Ft. Rucker in Alabama.  Paul was honorably discharged in 1957.

Following his Army service, Paul attended Stout State College (now U.W. Stout) where he earned a B.S. in Industrial Arts and a M.S. in Industrial Arts Education. 

On August 27, 1960, he married the former Jo-Ann Heinz in Fort Atkinson, WI.

Paul taught Industrial Arts at the high school level at Eleva-Strum High School from 1961 to 1963.  He then taught at Green Bay Preble High School from 1963 to 1970, at the junior high level at Green Bay Edison Junior High School from 1970 to 1985 and back to Green Bay Preble High School from 1985 to 1992. Paul also taught Driver’s Education to over 15,000 students.  After retiring from teaching, Paul worked as a Realtor until fully retiring in 2005.

Paul was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and a season ticket holder since 1965.

He is survived by his wife, Jo-Ann; sons, Paul, II (Cyndi), David (Margaret) and Timothy (Carrie) Jensen; daughter, Sarah-Jo Jensen (special friend, Kevin Willems); 11 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert (Darlene) Jensen; and sister, Betty Jane (Duane) Hegg.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Highland Crest Baptist Church, 1830 S. Military Ave., from 12:00 noon until the time of service.  Memorial service 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the church with Pastor Chad Hertler officiating. Full Military Honors to follow.
