Peter A. Beyer

Peter A. Beyer, 88, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2023.  He was born in New Franken on April 21, 1934, to the late Peter J. and Rose (Kaczmarowski) Beyer. Peter served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958.  In 1964, Peter married Barbara M. Van Lanen at Holy Cross Catholic Church. He was a lifelong member of St. Kilian Parish in New Franken.

Peter was a mason for the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers until his retirement in 1999.  He enjoyed playing cards, making booyah, listening to polka music and spending time with family and friends.  He especially enjoyed football Sundays when the grandchildren would come over and watch the Packers play and eat pizza.

Peter will be missed by his children, Chris (Debbie) Beyer, Lisa (Scott) Gruselle, and Peter Beyer; his grandchildren, Roxanne (Chris) Reindl, Steve, Tyler and Cody Gruselle; his brothers, Don (Kathy) and David (Linda) Beyer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Earl Martin, Milton (Jean) Van Lanen, Shirley Huxford, Sandie (Paul) Dorner, David Van Lanen, Mike (Patti) Van Lanen, Lori (Al) Beyer; many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Barbara; his son, Todd Beyer; siblings, Eleanor Martin, Bernadine (Edward) Decker, Beatrice (Donald) Salentine, Gerald Beyer, Richard Beyer and Rose Beyer; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Orville and Irene (Vanden Houten) Van Lanen; brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Thomas and Rodney Van Lanen and Theresa Van Lanen.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26th, at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St.  There will be a Parish Wake Service at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.  Visitation will continue at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Sugarbush, 5930 Humboldt Road, from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m. Monday, February 27th.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church with Rev. Carlo Villaluz officiating.  Military Honors will conclude the services.  Entombment will be in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.  To send online condolences please visit www.prokowall.com.
