Richard “Dick” J. Berg, age 77, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Saint Mary’s Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on June 23, 1945, in Bloomer, WI, to the late Norbert and Angeline (Kouba) Berg. He was united in marriage to Linda Nickodem on September 16th, 1993 in Green Bay. Richard loved hunting, fishing, and traveling with his wife sometimes daily to Shawano Lake and Door County. He also enjoyed spending time out in the woods and in his deer stand. Richard was often found in the kitchen cooking up many delicious dishes. He also found joy in meeting with and talking to people from all walks of life. Up until his passing, Richard was an insurance salesman. He owned and operated Dick Berg Insurance Agency for over 50 years.
Left to cherish Richard’s memory are his wife of 30 years, Linda; children, Michelle (Brandon “Scooby” True) Berg, Pat (Debbie) Berg, Kimberly (Dale) Williams, Jennifer (Gregory) Seaquist, Scott (Sarah) Berg; step-children, John (Jody) Blanz and Carrie (Matt Stein) Clarksen; grandchildren, Jordan (Hailey), Bryce and Maddie Berg, Colton and Olivia Williams, Lindsey and Landon Seaquist, Mikayla, Izzy, Sophia and Jack Berg, Neve, and Naya Blanz, Evan Gilbert and Tucker Bullock; his brothers-in-law, Gary (Karen) Nickodem, Roger (Carrie Heling) Nickodem, Lyle Nickodem; sisters-in-law, Judy North and Ruth (Jeff) Brisk. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norbert Berg; his mother Angeline Berg; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Antone Nickodem and Virginia Nickodem; brother-in-law James North; and grandson, Noah Berg.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.
