Richard H. Stolz

Richard H. Stolz, 97, Green Bay resident, died Friday, January 21, 2022. He was born on September 4, 1924, on Mission Rd. in Allouez, the son of the late Henry G. and Sarah F. Stolz. He was the youngest of five children who are all deceased.

Richard was a graduate of Green Bay East High School, class of 1942 and the University of Wisconsin, Madison, class of 1949. Upon receiving his degree in Madison, he joined the Mirro Corporation in Manitowoc, where he made his career in marketing and sales administration. Soon after he married the love of his life Marjorie, on April 19, 1952.

He served three years in the US Navy Amphibious Forces during WWII in England, D Day in Normandy and the southern France invasions, Italy, and North Africa. His ship was then assigned to Saipan, the Okinawa invasion and the Japanese landing in the Pacific.

Richard was active in Manitowoc community affairs as President of the Manitowoc-Two Rivers Chamber of Commerce, President of Manitowoc County Historical Society and was on the Board for Manitowoc memorial Hospital as well as the YMCA. He co-chaired the United Way campaigns, was an active Republican and party treasurer for many years and ran for the State Legislature. Richard belonged to the Jaycees and First Kiwanis Club of Manitowoc in addition to various other organizations.

He was a long time member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc and then joined St. Paul Lutheran Church when he and his wife Marjorie moved to Green Bay in 2001.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie (Weber); three children: Nancy (Hossein) Mirhashemi, Green Bay; John R. (Janeen) Stolz, De Pere; and Peter F. (Lori) Stolz, Manitowoc; eight grandchildren: Alex and Katherine Mirhashemi; Jack (Sarah) Stolz; Keith (Roxanne) Stolz; Maria (Mark) Stephans; Olivia (Ingo) Sander; Grace (Cooper) Schmidt and Peter “PJ” Stolz; two great granddaughters, Remi Stolz and Sutton Stephans.

Friends may call at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 514 Clay St., on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 9:30-10:45 am. Funeral Service 11:00 am Tuesday at the church with Rev. Jon Zabell officiating.
