Richard Joseph Flint

Richard Joseph Flint died peacefully on February 23, 2022, at the age of 90. He was born on October 8, 1931, in Green Bay, the youngest son of Charles and Madeline (Masse) Flint.

Richard was a graduate of Green Bay East High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, most of which was spent while stationed in Japan. Following his military service, Richard earned Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. On August 2, 1958, Richard married Patricia Ann Biermeret at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. They raised five children in Green Bay and were active members of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Parish.

Richard was a long-time proud employee of Wisconsin Public Service. He spent many years there as the Director of Internal Auditing. After retiring, he was able to enjoy more time researching his family genealogy, listening to classical music and watching old movies on television. Richard was a daily walker and attended many programs of interest at the ADRC. He continued his passion for airplanes and Japan. Richard especially enjoyed attending yearly Air Force reunions in San Antonio, TX. He was a member of many organizations including the Sullivan-Wallen Post #11, and the Bay Area Genealogical Society.

Richard will be greatly missed by his children, Mary Pat (Scott) Mallien, Mark Flint, Lori Danelski, Susan (John) Lee, and Kari Lykins, and devoted family friend, Laurie Bardouche and her daughters. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a brother-in-law, Harold DeKuester, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, his parents, his siblings, Harry, Catherine, June, Robert, Donald, their spouses, and many other family members.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street, on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday. Friends may also call at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria Street, on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Bill Hoffman officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. On-line condolences may be given at www.prokowall.com. 

Richard’s children extend their thanks to Dr. Jason Hoppe, Dr. Craig Janssen, Dr. Anatol Stankevych, and their staff for the many years of care they provided.  A special thanks to the professional, kind, and dedicated staff of McCormick Assisted Living; and especially all those who cared for Richard in the St. Francis Memory Wing during the last eight months.
