Richard L. Stoychoff, 73, died unexpectedly Saturday, October 29, 2022, following a brief illness. He was born October 18, 1949, in Bates, Michigan to the late Marvin and Eileen (Brooks) Stoychoff.

On July 6, 1968, Richard married Jean Bors in Iron River, Michigan. She preceded him in death in May of 2014. He worked as a machinist for Green Bay Packaging – Mill Division retiring after 40 years. Richard was an avid outdoorsman. He loved spending time at his cabin, “Camp Broken Back”, walleye fishing and hunting, and took many fishing trips to Canada with his brother and fishing buddy Ronnie Erickson. In his early years, he enjoyed playing softball and bowling in couples leagues. Over the years he took many trips to Hawaii, Arizona, and Florida with his wife Jean, and later with his significant other, Cathy Borlee.

Richard is survived by his children, Jodi (Doug) Burmeister and Troy (Chrissie) Stoychoff; his grandchildren, Zachary Burmeister (fiancé Cassie Sarokin), Brooke (Cody) Flavion, Hunter and Brady Stoychoff; his significant other Cathy Borlee, her family, and their dog “Shadow”; a brother, Steven (Valerie) Stoychoff and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, and two sisters, Kathy and Lois.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street, on Friday, November 4th, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Fewell officiating.
