Richard P. Lane, 71, died Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born January 25, 1952, in Denver, CO to the late Alan Lane, and Renee (Johns) Lane.

Richard was a pioneer of his time. He worked in the solar energy industry having a heart for preserving the environment before it was popular. Richard had a love of all things cultural and was genuinely kind to others, putting their needs first. Richard was always a mindful contributor to society by desiring to leave the world a better place and striving to live by his motto: “Manners are the glue that hold society together.” He was active in his local community, always wanting to give back to society, even in the end by donating his remains to scientific research. He will be remembered as a kind and loving father, grandfather, and friend who enjoyed being outdoors, biking, reading, and making people laugh. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and aspired to be a life-long learner and teacher.

Richard is survived by his children, Jaime and Jeffrey Danen, Ashley Lane, and Travis Lane; his grandkids, Bryn, Adah, Esme, and Leo; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Dave and Judi Lane, Bob and Pat Lane; his mother, Renee Lane; and his life-long roommate and archnemesis, Judy Lane, and other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 3rd at C. Street Pub, 312 Cherry Street, at 4:00 p.m. On-line condolences may be given at www.prokowall.com.

In honor of Richard’s memory, donations may be made in his name to Unity Hospice.
