Roberta M. Charneski, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Bernice (DeBauche) Johnson and Robert Johnson, born in Green Bay, WI in 1937.

In 1955 she married James R. Charneski, and they started their adventure from Miami, FL; while Jim was in the Coast Guard, and back to Green Bay, WI, where she lived most of her life.  She was a mother of four children that kept her very busy. Together with Jim, they had some hard and difficult times, but also many wonderful celebrations and blessings in life. Bobbie and Jim celebrated over 63 years of marriage. In addition to her loving husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Stephen J. Charneski, son-in-law David Allen, and brother Neil Johnson.

As a young mother she spent a lot of time giving back to the community.  When tragedy struck her family, and she suffered the loss of her son, Stephen, she and Jim were instrumental in bringing Compassionate Friends to Brown County, and she remained active with that organization for many years.

Her Catholic faith was very important to her, and she was a parishioner of Resurrection Church in Allouez. She enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends.

If you knew Roberta, you knew she said, “all my friends call me Bobbie.” I hope you called her Bobbie.

She is survived by her children, Brenda (Mark) Vaughan, Jill (Rick) Pruski, and Kathleen Allen. Five grandchildren, Andrew Vaughan, Lindsay Vaughan, Jim (Lindsay) Pruski, Amy Pruski and Kelly (Jason) Seltzer. Five great-grandchildren, Samuel, Mila and Eloise Pruski, James and Julia Seltzer and one sister, Patricia (Russ) Gould.

Visitation for Bobbie will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Resurrection Catholic Church 333 Hilltop Dr., from 10:00a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tom Reynebeau officiating. Bobbie will be entombed in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com. In lieu of flowers and other expressions of sympathy the family asks that friends make donations to Unity Hospice, 2366 Oak Ridge Cir, De Pere, WI 54115 in Bobbie’s name.

The family extends their sincere gratitude and a thank you to the staff of Unity Hospice for their loving care and support.
