Roger C. Wauters, Sr.

Roger C. Wauters, Sr. 93, died Monday, May 30, 2022. He was born September 14, 1928, in Green Bay to Alfred and Mae (Andre) Wauters.

Roger was a graduate of Green Bay East High School, Class of 1946. After graduation, he enlisted into the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, WA. While there he served as an EKG technician at Madigan General Hospital in Tacoma. On September 2, 1950, he married Elaine Porter at St. Willebrord Catholic Church.  This September they would have celebrated 72 years of marriage. For 42 years Roger was employed by Northern Paper Mill, which eventually became James River paper Company. Roger was also captain of their golf and bowling teams. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was in numerous musky tournaments.  Roger was well known among various groups for his singing, quick wit, and sense of humor.

Roger is survived by his wife, Elaine; his children, Roger (LeeAnn) Waters, Jr., Paul (Laural) Wauters, Jeff (Sue Ritter) Wauters, Dan (Jacki) Wauters, and Matt (Tina) Wauters; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael, his daughter, Lisa, his parents, and many brothers and sisters.

Friends may call at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, 650 S. Irwin Street, on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Friday. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. On-line condolences may be given at www.prokowall.com. In lieu of flowers, other expressions of sympathy would be appreciated.

Roger’s family extends a sincere word of thanks to the staff of Rennes Health & Rehab Center and Unity Hospice for all the care given to Roger.
