Ronald “Ron” Wypiszenski

Ronald Norbert Wypiszenski, 85, died on Friday, September 17, 2021, with his family at his side. Ron was born on Aug 30, 1936, in the Town of Humboldt to the late Albert and Cecilia (Van Den Plas) Wypiszenski. He attended Luxemburg High School where he wrestled and played football. He continued wrestling with his enlistment with the United States Army honorably serving his country for two years. On June 1, 1957, Ron married his high school sweetheart Yvonne VandenBush at St. Hubert’s Catholic Church (Sugar Bush). He was employed at Fort Howard Paper mill until he took up dairy farming which he did for 30 years. Ron worked maintenance for Schnieder National and after 25 years of grateful service, he retired. Ron was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed snowmobiling and was one of the founders of the Sugar Bush Trail Tramps snowmobile club. Ron adored his family and supported them and their endeavors attending his children’s and grandchildren’s concerts and sporting events. Ron was very active at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church where he ushered, was a communion distributer, and was a trustee member. He was a member of the American Legion post #262 and was one of the founders of the Luxemburg-Casco Wrestling Club.      

Ronald will be sadly missed by his wife of 64 years, Yvonne Wypiszenski; his children, Toni (Jayme) Zahn, Joe (Denise) Wypiszenski, Mike (Michelle) Wypiszenski, Greg (Laurie) Wypiszenski, and Carrie (Jake) Smith; grandchildren, April (special friend Brian Mercier) Zahn, Amy (Travis) Spude, Riley and Tyler Wypiszenski, Olivia (special friend Ben Ullmann) Wypiszenski, Leah (special friend Ethan Taycher) Wypiszenski, Baylee and Aubree Wypiszenski, and Madelyn Smith; great grandchildren, Payson and Aaliyah Spude; sister, Joan Phillips; sisters-in-law, Carol VandenBush, Joan (Jim) Berger. He is further survived by many other family and friends.

In addition to his parents Ron was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Dave Phillips, Cliff (Jean) VandenBush, Ed (Theresa) VandenBush, Clem (Lucille) VandenBush, Ralph (Doris) VandenBush, Ardeal (Jackie) VandenBush, Gilbert VandenBush, Joe (Rosie) VandenBush, and Ellen and (Lloyd) Strebel.    

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church (Sugar Bush), 5930 Humboldt Rd., Luxemburg, WI 54217, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of Parish Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at the church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Lukee officiating followed by full military honors. Ronald will be buried at St. Hubert Cemetery (Sugar Bush). Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.

The family extends their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the many friends and family that came to visit Ron and for all their prayers and cards of encouragement. The family also extends a heartfelt thank you to the staffs at Annas House and to Oddfellows Nursing Home for the care given to Ron and his family.

Ron’s children would like to express their gratitude to their mom for the love, strength, and devotion she showed to their dad, especially during his courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
