Ronald W. “Ron”, “Jake” Jacobs, 83, died Tuesday, September 7, 2021. He was born July 11, 1938, in New Franken to William and Leona (LaPlant) Jacobs, Sr.

Ron was a graduate of Green Bay East High School, Class of 1956. For 37 years he worked as a warehouse supervisor for Leicht Transfer and Storage. Ron later worked for Lee and Mark DeChamps on their farm. On August 22, 1959, Ron married Darlene Vanness at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Champion. Ron enjoyed spending his time bowling, golfing, playing cards with friends, gardening, and going to Kelly Lake. He loved watching the Badgers, Brewers, was a lifelong Packers fan and attended the Ice Bowl. Ron was a member of St. Bernard Parish for 57 years. He will be remembered for his sense of sarcasm and crusty sense of humor.

Ron is survived by his wife, Darlene; his children, David (Christine) Jacobs, Cindy (Dave) Walder, Mary Chris (Jim) Kerscher, and Vicki (Steve) Collin; his 10 grandchildren, Mitchell Collin, Jacob Collin, Kory (Katie) Baker, Taylor (Kyleigh) Kerscher, Miranda Jacobs, Ashley (Trey) Benhart, Nicholas Kerscher (fiancé Ashton), Rebecca Jacobs, Jordan Collin (fiancé Casey), and Connor Jacobs; his 3 step-grandchildren, Brandon (Liz) Walder, Joe Walder, and Ellie Walder; his 4 great-grandchildren, Payton Lily, Finnley, Geneva, and Ella; his step-greatgrandchild, Parker; his sisters, Annabelle Skaletski and Mary Lou Jacobs; his brother, Rev. William J. Jacobs, Jr.; a brother-in-law, Dick Deterville; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Kayla Baker and Mason Collin; his parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Doris Vanness; his brothers and sisters, Celena (Dick) VandeVoort, Robert (Bernice) Jacobs, Arlene (Ed) VerHeyden, and Russell (Helen) Jacobs; his brother-in-law, Norbert Skaletski; sisters-in-law, Lavern Deterville, and Angie (Marvin) Zellner.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street, on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Parish Wake will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Friends may also call at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane, on Monday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church with Rev.
