Ruth Ann Blackman, 106, died Monday, February 27, 2023. She was born June 8, 1916, in Green Bay to the late Joseph and Sarah (Baraitser) Berman.
Ruth was a graduate of Green Bay East High School, Class of 1934. On August 26, 1940, she married Isadore Blackman in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1972.
She enjoyed being part of a large family of siblings with many nieces and nephews. As a young woman she traveled by herself to explore Cuba. In her middle years, after raising her children and after her husband died, she returned to Green Bay from Marinette, Wisconsin. She then loved working at Nau’s Department store for many years as a salesperson in woman’s clothes.
Ruth is survived by her son, Joel Blackman, and she was preceded in death by a daughter, Roberta Blackman; two brothers, David Berman and Archie Berman; five sisters, Mae Roth, Ann Feldstein, Rose Solkovitz, Ida Moss, and Bertha Fisher.
