Sandra “Sandy” Ruth Tursky, 79, Green Bay, joined her beloved husband Jim in heaven on Monday, September 27, 2021.  She was born on August 21, 1942, in New Franken to the late Carl and Pearl (Greiling) Basten.  Sandy graduated from East High School with the class of 1960.  On October 17, 1964, she married Jim Tursky at St. Killian’s Catholic Church in New Franken and enjoyed 40 years together until his passing on September 21, 2004.  She was employed at Mrs. Karl’s Bakery and later at St. Philip and St. Bernard Catholic Churches.  Sandy was proud of her work and was always willing to go the extra mile to help someone.  She had an extensive collection of memorabilia for Elvis Presley, her favorite singer and the Packers, her beloved football team.  She also enjoyed collecting pigs.  Sandy enjoyed traveling, theatre, holidays, and golfing.  She had a strong commitment to her faith.  Sandy treasured time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was known for her good sense of humor.  When it came to cooking, she believed ice cream with chocolate should be considered a meal.
