Jo Beth Farah was a gift from God delivered as the 7th child to Daniel “Don” and Joyce “Joy” (Gaedtke) Farah on November 10, 1964. She was carried on eagles’ wings to heaven on January 3, 2021, at age 56 from natural causes. As a child, she attended Helen Keller, Jefferson Elementary, and Franklin Jr. High Schools. She was a proud member of the Packerland Jets while working at the Community Service Center (Aspiro). As an adult, she attended Sunshine House in Sturgeon Bay and most recently attended Curative Connections.  In spite of her health limitations, her life was a treasure to all who knew her. Upon her dad’s retirement, she became a snowbird and wintered in Florida at New Smyrna Beach where she enjoyed swimming in the pool and competing at shuffleboard, achieving the title of Champion of the annual Bahamian Club shuffleboard tournament. Her summers were spent at the family cottage at Sand Bay (Door County) which eventually became her home. Jo Beth loved life and everything that went with it. She loved to sing and dance, especially to her favorite songs including “Don’t Worry..Be Happy”, “Grease”, “Mama Mia”, or “Annie”. Her favorite TV shows were “The Brady Bunch”, “All in the Family”, and “Family Feud”. She was the biggest Packers, Badgers, and Brewers fan and had many autographs and brushes with fame. She was a true hero when she donated her bone marrow to her sister Julie who is alive today in part from her generosity. Jo Beth was an accomplished Special Olympian competing in track and field, bowling, and swimming. She swam like a fish and would fight to stay in the pool or bay, even when it was dinnertime.

She is survived by her mother Joy Farah with whom she made her home; her siblings and their families, Jim (Erin) Farah, Sommer, Haley and Parker; Doug (Ann) Farah, Alisa and Austin; Debbie (Ken Vonckx) Farah, Amy (Nick), Tara (Ryan), Angela (Matt), Amanda (Tanner), and Alicia (Brandon); Julie (Chuck) Lamine, Jason and Emily; Jeri (Tim) Paul, Heather (Brent), Nathan (Jessica) and Stephanie (Ben); Dr. Dan (Tamra) Farah; many great-nieces and great-nephews; her good friend, Darlene; aunts, uncles, many cousins and her Godfather, Carl Farah.

She was preceded in death by her father, Don Farah.

The family is celebrating Jo Beth’s life with private services and a public celebration will be determined at a later date.  Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.  Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., Green Bay, WI 54302, is assisting the family.  To send online condolences visit www.prokowall.com.

Her mother Joy was her best friend and they shared a special bond above and beyond most mother/daughter relationships. She shared the gift of patience, faith, inner strength, and family values admired by all who knew her. Her brothers, sisters, and their spouses all gave selflessly to ensure comfort and dignity as her health declined.   Her favorite thing to say when she went outside was, “It’s a nice, beautiful day.”  We know her days in heaven will be nice, beautiful days.

The family would like to thank her care team at Lakeland Care for their help in keeping Jo Beth at home, especially Faith, Vicky, Lynn and Valerie.

Memorial contributions may be made in Jo Beth Farah’s name to Sunshine House Inc. (Sturgeon Bay) or Curative Connections (Green Bay).
