Todd “Butter” W. Butterfield, 55, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 7, 2023.  He was born on December 20, 1967, in Green Bay to the late James and Sandra (Unsinn) Butterfield.  Todd was a 1986 graduate of Green Bay West High School.  During his time in school, he excelled at athletics and was the 1985 state high school wrestling champion in the heavyweight division.  Todd also received the highest recognition of individual athletic accomplishment and was named all-conference lineman for Green Bay West.  After high school, Todd coached youth wrestling locally for several years.  He also proudly coached his son’s Pop Warner football team and stepped up to coach his son’s soccer team when the original coach didn’t show up.  He never backed away from a challenge.  He retired from the Green Bay Correctional Institution where he served as a correctional officer for over 28 years.  Todd was always proud of his children, and loved attending their many sporting events and activities.  Todd was the life of the party, and seemingly always the loudest in the room.  He would make jokes or comments on the spot known to his friends or family as “butter-isms”.  Todd was always there for people and willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed, no matter what.  He loved being a father, and even more so “Grandpa Butter” to his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Julia (Jeremy) Langer and Ross Butterfield; grandchildren, Parker and McKenna Langer; siblings, Robin Butterfield, Shawn (Patti) Butterfield and Kelly Butterfield; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brynn Langer.
