Verna Jauquet

Verna Jauquet, 94, Green Bay resident, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at a local hospital. She was born March 2, 1926, in Rosiere, Wisconsin, to the late John and Emily (Delforge) Maccoux. Verna attended Brussels High School. She married Harvey Jauquet on July 29, 1942, at St. Hubert’s Catholic Church in Rosiere. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1999. Verna was employed at Schreiber Foods for 42 years until her retirement.

 She was a charter member of St Bernard Parish and a member of their Altar Rosary Society. In retirement, Verna enjoyed day trips to the casino and rarely turned down a game of Schafkopf. Her 94 years can be attributed to keeping a healthy and active lifestyle which included a regular walking schedule.

 Verna is survived by her two children, Judy and Jerry Froelich and Kevin and Kelly Jauquet, all of Bellevue; seven grandchildren: Denise (Mike) Baeten, Green Bay; Dave Froelich, Boston; Jeremy Jauquet, Bellevue; Crystal (Jon) Giles, Little Chute; Heather (fiance’ Jake) Secord, Bellevue; Wyatt Rentmeester, Green Bay and Cassidy (fiancé Joe) Rentmeester, Milwaukee; seven great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Rita Jauquet, Green Bay.

 She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford (Mary) Maccoux and Sanford (Germain) Maccoux; three sisters-in-law: Doris (Harry) Wendricks; Irma (Goldie) Bader and Clara (Mike) Vertz; one brother-in-law, Peter (Armilla) Jauquet.

 Friends may call at St Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane, after 9:30 am on Monday, March 9, until time of Mass. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Monday at the church with Rev. Mark VanderSteeg officiating. Entombment at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be sent to the Jauquet family at www.prokowall.com.
