Virginia “Ginny” Heim

Virginia “Ginny” A. Heim, 89, Green Bay, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022.  She was born on January 2, 1933, in New Franken to the late Michael and Anna (Adams) Michalski.  She attended Green Bay East high school and then graduated with an Associates Degree in Traffic Management from NWTC.  On August 27, 1955, she married Lee Heim in Green Bay.  He preceded her in death on May 14, 2006.  Virginia worked for 10 years as a Traffic Manager for the Schreiber Cheese Company.  She then worked for five years as an Assistant Buyer for Pranges Department Store.  Virginia was very active in the community and was appointed by the Governor to be on the board of Nursing Home Regulations for the state of Wisconsin.  She was a board member of Common Cause, on the committee for Learning and Retirement at UWGB.  Virginia was also a member of the Watercolor Guild, Brown County and De Pere Women’s Club.  She loved gardening, painting and traveling.  Virginia have visited 34 different countries throughout her travels.  Her greatest joy in life was raising her three children and two grandchildren.  Her joy for life and positivity was felt by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Zack Heim, Green Bay; Gabe Heim, Green Bay; Mary (Paul) Groth, Elkhorn, WI; twin grandsons, Shane Heim, Sun Prairie and Jarrid (Laura) Heim, Cottage Grove; great grandchildren, Cora and Harrison; and many relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew St., from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.  Memorial Mass 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church with Rev. Bob Kabat officiating.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.
