Wayne Heezen

Wayne R. Heezen, 71, Denmark, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 surrounded by his family.  He was born on May 22, 1947 in Green Bay to the late Hilbert and Amelia (Ronk) Heezen.  Wayne worked at Northern Papermill until he was drafted in the U.S. Army where he served from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1968.  After his time in the Army, he went back to work at the mill, which is now Georgia Pacific, for over 40 years until his retirement.  On November 15, 1975, he married Sharon Dahin at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bay Settlement.  Wayne enjoyed the outdoors working in his garden and fixing up tractors.  He loved spending time with his family especially the grandchildren. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; children, Greg (Jamie) Heezen and their children, Carl and Veronica; Jeff Heezen and Lisa; and Stacy (Dan) Delain and their children, Mason, Will and Ava; sisters, Donna (Larry) Wotruba and Diane (Randy) Rentmeester; sisters-in-law, Carole Greatens and Bonnie Dahin; brother-in-law, Stan DeJardin; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Doris (Mike) Vincent; brothers-in-law, Bill Greatens and Jim Dahin; sister-in-law, Jackie DeJardin; niece, Kara Dahin; nephew, Joey Rentmeester.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Monday, April 22, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.  Memorial service 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Sr. Patricia Vanden Bergh officiating.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.
