Wayne LaCrosse

Wayne Joseph LaCrosse, 78, passed away December 26, 2021. He was born July 19, 1943, in the Town of Lincoln to Walter and Elsie (Deprey) LaCrosse.  Wayne served in the U.S. Navy with the Seabees from 1965 to 1970, stationed in Vietnam during the War.  He remained proud of his service to his country through out his life and was a member of the American Legion in Pulaski. 

On January 27, 1968, Wayne married Elaine Wertel at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church.  The couple was blessed with four children. 

Wayne retired from Green Bay Packaging after a 39 and ½ year career.  He enjoyed being in the outdoors, hunting, fishing, four wheeling, camping up north and having bonfires with the family. He was known to extend an invitation with “The beer is cold and the fire is hot”.   Wayne belonged to many bowling leagues throughout the years and could boast of his 300 game. 

He is survived by his wife Elaine LaCrosse, Pulaski; four children, Christine (Curt) McSweyn, Paul (Theresa) LaCrosse, Sara (Jeff) Allen, Michael (special friend, Jen) LaCrosse; 17 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and one on the way; one brother, Bernard (Janice) LaCrosse;  sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Theresa (Tom) DeVos, Phyllis (Jerry) Boehm, Carl (Nancy) Wertel, Betty (Rick) Kangas; many nieces and nephews, special friends, Dave and Linda Kobes and their family.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St.  A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at noon Thursday at SS.
