Wayne “Oscar” Van Rite
Wayne “Oscar” Van Rite, 61, Bellevue resident, died Wednesday, December 18, 2019, in Madison at the University Hospital following a brief illness. He was born January 27, 1958, in Bellevue to the late Marvin and Dorothy (Raymaker) Van Rite. Wayne attended Green Bay Preble High School, graduating in 1976. Following high school, he began working in the family construction business. Wayne was also co-owner of the Goal Post Inn with his sister Nancy for 12 years. More recently he was employed by Eileen’s Candy until his retirement in 2018.
He is survived by three children: Katie Grimm, Andrew Van Rite and Robert Van Rite; his siblings: Thomas (Sandy) Van Rite; Nancy Van Rite (Tim); Jerry (Julie) Van Rite and Alice (Joe) Faltynski; grandchildren, nieces and nephews; dear friends, Donna Deer and Ben.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Van Rite as well as many aunts and uncles.
Friends may call at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Rd., on Saturday, December 21, after 9:00 am until the time of Mass. Funeral Mass 11:00 am at the church with Rev.
