William Baenen

William “Bill” Baenen, 69, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 10, 2023, in the comfort of his “up north” retreat with his devoted wife at his side.  He was born February 20, 1953, in Green Bay to John and Dora (Vandervest) Baenen and raised in Bay Settlement.  On January 15, 1972, he married Christine Hoagland at Blessed Sacrament Church.  Bill was a mechanic by trade, working at various businesses in the Green Bay area for many years.  He had a love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing, tending to his pigeons and rabbits, riding his four-wheeler, and shooting trap and skeet.  Bill loved a good game of Cuyoo.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Baenen; three sons, Kurt (Chris), Chad (Angie), and Kerry (Courtney) Baenen; grandchildren, Camryn and Seth; Chaise and Jett; Brooklyn, Dane and Quinn; a sister and a brother, Barb (Fred) Schultz and Merlin (Terri) Baenen; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Cindy Spangler, Pat (Lisa) Hoagland, Vicky (Kevin) Hultman, Kevin (Julie) Hoagland and Kelly (John) Wolfe; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dora Baenen; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Marilyn Hoagland; three brothers-in-law, Dan Pelkin, Dale Spangler, and Michael Hoagland.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. Green Bay.  A Celebration of his Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.  Entombment will be in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.  To send online-condolences visit www.prokowall.com.
