On July 28, 2022 I passed away surrounded by my loving family. More about that later…

I was born on October 19, 1935 in Green Bay to my wonderful parents, the late Lawrence and Lorraine (Cunningham) Woldt. I come from a crazy, fun loving family of six children; the late Larry (the late Susie) Woldt, Lee (the late Nancy) Woldt, Lance (Debbie) Woldt, Lyn (the late Kurt) Matzke and the late Michael (Jennifer) Woldt.

I graduated from Green Bay East High School, class of 1954~the best class ever! I helped plan all of our class reunions, including our 65th in 2019.

On September 3, 1960, I married John Callahan. John and I had been friends for years. We grew up blocks from each other on the northside of Green Bay. John was even my grandmother’s paper boy. When I told Mom that John and I were to be married she told me it was like marrying my brother~I thought it was perfect! John and I have had a wonderful full marriage filled with great times with family and friends.  One of the things we enjoyed most was attending Green Bay Packer games. We are season ticket holders and attended every home game until we could no longer walk up the steps. This includes the historic 1967 Ice Bowl when I was seven months pregnant.

John and I have three wonderful children; Kitty (Mike) Callahan-Janas, Kerri (Jim) Collins and Patrick (Stacey) Callahan. Our children are the loves of our lives! And then they added to our joy with grandchildren; Katie (Jeremy Fischer) Collins, Kelly (Abe) Riederer and Molly (Garrett Rogers) Collins and step-great-grandchildren; Maria McFarland and Berkley Denor.  When the kids and grandkids were little we enjoyed traveling to Door County, Wisconsin Dells, LaCrosse, and Disney World. As the kids got older we traveled to Las Vegas several times, Hawaii, Mexico and Clearwater Beach, just to name a few. Our children and grandchildren have been alongside us all of our lives. We’ve shared so many great times together and now, we are so grateful for their help as we navigate through the aging process with grace.

I was fortunate to be able to stay home with my children when they were younger but had a career as bookkeeper and office manager at various times in my life as well. I have fond memories of the relationships that I made while working at  Metropolitan Life Insurance, NWTC, Franklin Life Insurance and Matousek and Associates Inc.

I have had many hobbies throughout my life. These include swimming, bowling, tennis, and playing cards (especially Bridge and Schafkopf). But my all time favorite was golf! My Mom and Dad passed on their love of the sport to us children and we were members of Shorewood Golf Club for many years. I quickly discovered I was pretty darn good! I scored a pair of 78s while playing at Mystery Hills with my Mother. I also scored a hole in one at Mystery Hills~before they moved up the tees. I played golf into my late 70s and belonged to various courses throughout the years. I have met some of the greatest people on the golf course and cannot wait to play again with my parents, brothers and wonderful friends on the courses in heaven!

My life has been full and I have no regrets. I have a loving husband who has cared for me, told me I am beautiful and that he loves me every day of our 61+ years of marriage. I have the most wonderful children in the world and I have been blessed with many, many good lifelong friends (some all the way back to grade school!) which I am so thankful for. Life has been grand and I thank the good Lord every day for the blessings he has bestowed on me.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, but I was ready. Please don’t cry because I am gone, smile because I have lived and loved. Remember me as the fun loving, funny, kind, warm person that I hope touched your life in a positive way.

I would like to thank all the caregivers at Dimensions Living Green Bay (formally Age Well Centre for Life Enrichment) for their loving support to both John and me.

St. John’s Homeless Shelter of Green Bay has always been close to my heart. To honor my memory, please consider a donation to this wonderful resource.

My visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside.  My Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church with my priest and friend Rev. Mark VanderSteeg officiating.  Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. To send online condolences visit www.prokowall.com.
