Ann Jilot

Anna M. Jilot, known lovingly as Ann, 95, Green Bay resident, died on Thursday, May 20, 2021.

She was born December 11, 1925 in Newton, Wisconsin to the late Richard and Anna (Geiger) Vogel. Ann graduated in 1939 from St. Joseph Catholic Grade School in Alverno and then attended Manitowoc Lincoln High School, graduating in 1943. Ann married Richard Jilot on June 29, 1946, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alverno. They lived in Manitowoc until 1949 when they moved to Green Bay where she and her husband owned and managed an apartment building in Green Bay for several years.

She was a stay at home mother devoted to raising her children. Ann had a strong Catholic faith which she instilled in her children. She not only practiced her faith but lived it as well. Ann was a charter member of St. Bernard Parish, was active in the ladies Altar-Rosary Society and volunteered for numerous school and church functions. She loved her family and was very proud of all of them. Ann appreciated their visits and waited to see her grandson Jay, his wife Cassie and great granddaughter Lauren Elyse. Ann and Richard also enjoyed traveling to many different states, visiting family, and seeing historical places. She enjoyed spending time in her flower beds and rose garden.

Ann will be lovingly remembered by two sons, Dennis (Lynne), Reno, NV and Richard (Wanelle), West Monroe, LA; grandson, Jay (Cassie), Reno, NV and great granddaughter, Lauren Elyse; also surviving, her brother, Richard Vogel, Green Bay and her sister, Elaine Martin (Robert) Hjelle, Winona, MN; two sisters-in-law, Lucy Jilot and Fryn Jilot, both of Sturgeon Bay; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two infant siblings, Elroy and Maria; brother, Leonard (Marjorie) Vogel and sisters, Irene (Reinhardt) Staudinger, Emma (Fred) Meyer, Laverne (Arnold) Stock and Beatrice (Alva) Settle and sister-in-law, Hedy Vogel.

Due to Covid considerations, a private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Reverend Mark P. Vander Steeg officiating. Entombment will follow in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. A Requiem Mass and celebration of Ann’s life will be held for family and friends at St. Bernard Catholic Church on June 29, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow. Ann’s family is grateful for all the love and support from her many caregivers at Age Well Assisted Living and Unity Hospice.
