Chester Dudkiewicz

Chester G. “Chet” Dudkiewicz, 90, of Green Bay died Wednesday, January 17, 2024. He was born February 18, 1933, in Green Bay to the late Harry and Bernice (Janicki) Dudkiewicz.

Chet attended St. Mary of the Angels Grade School, and later was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1951. Afterwards, he graduated from St. Norbert College with a degree in accounting. Following college, he served in the U.S. Navy for two years in the Pacific aboard the APP Lord Calvert. When Chet was out of the service, he began a long, successful career at Schreiber Foods in various areas of accounting at the corporate office. On July 26, 1969, he married Patricia McKinney at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on January 16, 2015. Together they were blessed with two sons, Stephen and Michael. Chet, in his early life, played all card games, football, and bowled. When married, his life was centered around, family, traveling, and spending time at the family cottage where memories were made fishing, fish fries, booyah bashes, reunions, cutting wood for campfires, boiling off maple syrup, berry picking, and wild mushroom hunts.

Chet is survived by his two sons, Steve (Tracy Pirman) Dudkiewicz and Mike (Michelle Duemke) Dudkiewicz; five grandchildren, McKinney “Mac,” Lauren, Ana, Colton and Griffin; numerous nieces and nephews, especially Sue Zastawniak, Bob Kaminski, and Kathy Kaminski; and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Leo (Lucille) Dudkiewicz Edward Dudkiewicz, Estella (Edward) Kaminski, Ceil (Stanley) Kaminski, Agnes (Frank) Zastawniak, and Helen (Ed) Buyarski.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street, on Thursday, January 25th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Parish Wake will be held at 7:00 p.m.  Friends may also call at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, 650 S. Irwin Street, on Friday, January 26th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Finian Zaucha OFM officiating. Full Military Honors to follow. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery. On-line condolences may be given at www.prokowall.com.

Chet’s family extends a sincere word of thanks to the caring staff of Unity Hospice and St. Vincent Hospital for the care given to Chet.
