Cynthia “Cindy” (Anderson) Hanner, 67, of Green Bay, formerly of Marinette, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family.  She was born in Hanau, Germany on March 22, 1957, the daughter of Francis “Andy” and Betty (Morris) Anderson.  Cindy spent her early years abroad while her father was serving in the U.S. Army.  The family moved to Oscoda, Michigan, where Cindy graduated from high school.  She met her future husband, Joel Hanner III, while attending Northern Michigan University.  The two wed on July 1, 1978, and the marriage was blessed with three daughters, Jessica, Jackie and Josie.  The family lived in Marinette where Joel taught and coached, and Cindy worked in sales and marketing.  After retirement, Cindy and Joel moved to Green Bay to be closer to their family.

Cindy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She supported her husband’s career, attending games and school events and befriending teammates and their parents.  She was most proud when attending the events for her daughters. She loved being “Nanny” to her grandchildren and watching them grow in their accomplishments.  Cindy developed many close friendships throughout the years, some that lasted decades.  Among her favorite social activities were her card club and getting together the coaches’ wives and other lady friends.

Cindy was a creative person.  She enjoyed fishing and was an avid Packers fan.  Cindy was a faithful member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Green Bay.  Her family is grateful to Pastor David Hatch for his spiritual guidance through her illness.

She will be forever missed by her husband, Joel Hanner; three daughters, Jessica Hanner of Green Bay, Jackie (Mike) Stoeckigt of Howards Grove and Josie (Mitchell) Frydrych of Greenville; her grandchildren, Corbin and Collins Weed, Mason and Addison Stoeckigt and Clay and Marley Frydrych; siblings, Larry (Sharis) Pike of Lake Mary, FL, Deb Anderson Weaver of Green Bay and Rob Anderson of Detroit, MI; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
