Donald F. Blohowiak, 93 Green Bay resident, died Sunday, December 31, 2023. He was born July 6, 1930, in Green Bay, to the late George and Cathryn (Splan) Blohowiak. Don was a graduate of Green Bay West High School. He married the former Esther Tyczkowski on June 6, 1953, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Hofa Park. She preceded him in death after 61 years of marriage, on December 20, 2014.

Don was employed by the Green Bay Press Gazette for 42 years in retail sales until his retirement. Following retirement from the paper he worked for the Catholic Compass and finished with a part-time job at Schroeder’s Flowers as a delivery person for 15 years. Don made many friends throughout his life; he was always engaging and friendly. He was also known as “Sugar Beets” Blohowiak.

Don was always a very active man. He played in golf leagues, participated in bowling leagues, was a member of the Downtown Lions Club, and loved to polka. Don was an avid sports fan, going to Milwaukee Brewers games as well as a season ticket holder for the Green Bay Packers. He never passed up the opportunity for a card game and organized many card clubs over the years. Don was a charter member of St. Bernard Parish.

Don is survived by three children: Glenn (Diane) Blohowiak, Pulaski; Lynn (Scot) Miller and Lisa (Steve) Marshall, all of Green Bay; 9 grandchildren: Kelly (Joel) Vincent; Jamie (Marcelo) Oliveira; Gina (Riki Nakasuji) Blohowiak; Collin (Katie) Marshall; Adalia Marshall (Daniel Behnke); Amanda (Neil) Jauquet; Dan Miller; Dawn (Chris) Nelson and Kyle (Jade VanGheem) Miller; 15 great grandchildren: Kendra, Alexa, Brayden, Cameron, Tyler, Kaiya, Cora, Jansen, Nick, Gabriella, Adalynn, Amelia, Todd, Declan and Madeline; one brother-in-law, John (Charlotte) Tyczkowski; two sisters-in-law, Rosemary Blohowiak and Penny Tyczkowski; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 5 siblings: Gordon Blohowiak, George Blohowiak, Mel Blohowiak, Lorraine Gore and Virginia Archambeau.

Friends may call at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Dr. on Saturday, January 6, from 9:30 – 10:45 am. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Saturday at the church with Rev. Adam Bradley officiating.
