Eugene H. “Gene” Kuehl, 85, passed away quietly and peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2023. He was born November 13, 1937, in Wonewec, WI, and lived in Milwaukee.
For 63 years Gene was married to his beloved wife Judi. He worked as an account executive for Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance, after they were married, he was transferred to Green Bay where they raised their family. After 32 years, he retired at the age of 55. During that time, he won many sales competitions and traveled to China, Europe, Ireland, Mexico, Hawaii, and Alaska with many friends and fond memories. His happy place was their lake house on Spider Lake and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and all the memories made there.
Gene is survived by his wife, Judi; his children, Kevin (Lois) Kuehl and Lori (Erik) Rutherford; his grandchildren, Blake Rutherford (and fiancé Delaney McCreary), Connor (Gabrielle) Rutherford, and Bryce Kuehl; sisters, Virginia Hermes and Kathleen Reimer; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Gerald Kuehl, two brothers-in- law, a sister-in-law, and many dear friends.
Friends may call at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 120 S. Henry Street, on Thursday, May 18th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Friday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church with Pastor David Hatch officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Gene’s memory to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project.
