Harold Vander Loop

Harold J. Vander Loop, 80, of Denmark, died Thursday, February 8, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born June 22, 1943, in De Pere to the late George and Antoinette (Van Bogart) Vander Loop.  On June 19, 1965, he married Joann Balza, at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church.

Harold attended Premontre Catholic High School, served in the U.S. Army from 1960-1961, and as a reservist for three years after his discharge. Farming was Harold’s life. Harold owned and operated a dairy farm with his wife, Joann.  He dehorned cattle and whitewashed barns, always taking great pride in his work ethic.  Harold owned his own cattle hauling business as well.  Harold was a member of St Therese Parish – St. Lawrence Church site, Stangelville where he was a member of the St. Lawrence Holy Name Society and served as parish treasurer and usher. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus-Fr. Platta Council #4735. Harold was proud of his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Joann; his six children, Mike Vander Loop, Colleen (Andrew) Sipiorski, Jeanette (Brian) Brittain, Dennis Vander Loop, Sandy (Ty) Amble, and Sara (Andy) Wentzel; his grandchildren, Madison Vander Loop, Morgan (Ethan) Schneider, Rebekah (Luke) Vande Wettering, Ben Sipiorski, Sam Sipiorski (special friend Heidi Strey), Ian Brittain, Evan Brittain, Wyatt Vander Loop, Dustin Vander Loop, Taylor (Derek) Kruczek, Erik Amble (fiancé Aubrey Peters), Alex Amble (fiancé Alysse Kott), and Leah Gast; his great-grandchildren, Carson Schmidt, Ella Vande Wettering, Connor Vande Wettering, Atlas Vander Loop, and Baby Kruczek (who is on the way); his Grand pup, “Jack”;  brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many good friends.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Florence Balza, his sister, Sister George Antoinette, sisters-in-law, Diane Vander Loop and Pam Vander Loop, niece Erin Nankee; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, MaryAnn (Dan) Kaminski; nephews Mark Kaminski and Joseph Gauthier; and many other relatives and friends.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street, on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Parish Wake will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday. Friends may also gather at St. Therese Parish – St Lawrence Church site – Stangelville, N2085 County Road AB on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church with Fr. Dennis Drury and Fr. Robert Kabat officiating. Entombment will be in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. On-line condolences may be given at www.prokowall.com.
