James L. Vande Hey, 74, De Pere resident, died Saturday, August 20, 2022, following a lengthy illness. He was born June 18, 1948, to the late Edward and Elizabeth “Betty” (Cavil) Vande Hey. Jim married the former Linda Andrews on November 18, 1972, at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church. Jim and Linda would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this November. He served in the US Army and held various positions of employment in the Green Bay area. In 1995 he and Linda started Jim and Lynn’s Pizza Company which is still operating today.
Jim enjoyed playing Dartball and participating in regional tournaments. He and Linda also played English Darts and played in those tournaments as well. Jim played Fantasy Football as well as Fantasy Nascar. He was always a numbers guy and enjoyed following “stats” on many things.
He is survived by his wife Linda and their son, Steve (Amanda) Vande Hey; three grandchildren, Evelynn, Samuel and James and his sister; Peggy Haney; two brothers-in-law, Jerry (Mary) Andrews; Al (Marcia) Andrews and sister-in-law, Diane (Fred) Berg.
Jim was preceded in death by a son, Michael Vande Hey and his brother, Bob Vande Hey.
Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. on Saturday, September 3, from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 4:00 pm. Memorial service 4:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home with Dcn Bill Burkel officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the Vande Hey family at www.prokowall.com.
