Jo Ann (Netols) Skarzynski, 87, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024. She was born February 1, 1937, to Albert and Mae (Panure) Netols. Jo Ann attended East High School. On September 26, 1953, she married Dale Skarzynski at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. The union was blessed with 7 children.

In her younger days, she enjoyed playing volleyball and roller skating, which is how she met Dale.  They always said, “We met on skates and have been going around in circles together ever since.”  64 years and 4 months to be exact, before Dale passed away on May 22, 2018.  Life was busy, raising their children, and then enjoying their grandchildren and attending their activities.

Jo Ann volunteered for the American Red Cross, St. Vincent Hospital, and with the funeral lunch committee for St. Bernard Catholic Church.  Jo Ann was also a member of their Altar Rosary Society.  She and Dale volunteered together for the Weidner Center and shared a love for sports, especially the UWGB Girls Basketball team.  Up until her illnesses did not allow it, she enjoyed playing volleyball, walking, playing cards, reading, and crocheting her cherished afghans.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Teri and Dan Hannon, Chris and Jerry Nuthals, Peggy Kleckner, of Bloomington, IL; and Mary Jo Pasco; sons and daughters-in-law, Dave and Donna, of Crestview, FL; Mark and Donna of Mountain, and Jim and Yasmin, of Bellevue, NE; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol Nooyen; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jerome and Frances Skarzynski;  a grandson, Brent Kleckner; a sister, Marilyn (Ken) Schwartz; three brothers, Robert, William (Ione), and Ken (Lill) Netols; a brother-in-law, Eugene Nooyen; an infant sister-in-law, Isabell Skarzynski; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
