Joseph John Bangert, of Green Bay died Wednesday, May 3, 2023. He was born January 28, 1936, in Green Bay to the late Lea and Armilla (Ouradnik) Bangert. In 1963, Joseph married Sharon Nys at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Green Bay. They enjoyed 59 years of marriage until her death in 2022. Joe proudly served his nation with the United States Army. He drove truck for many years retiring from the road while working for Super Valu. Joe liked watching sports, spending his time in the woods hunting, in his garden, or catching up with his favorite show Jeopardy. He loved and cherished his time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Joe will be sadly missed by his children, Jeffrey Bangert and Kris (Gary) Pezon; his granddaughters, Brittany (Kenny) Beinlich and Kassi (Justin) Off; great granddaughter, Kaitlin Beinlich, brother, Donald Bangert; sisters-in-law, Sandra Meyer and Debra Nys; nieces, Michelle (Dan) Johnson, Wendy (Jaret) Sahr, Deb Gritt; nephews, Jody Meyer, Andrew (Jennifer) Nys, Donald Bangert, Jr., David Foster, and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife Sharon; an infant daughter, Carrie Jo; a grandson, Jake Pezon; sister, Barbara Foster and brothers-in-law, Dane Nys, Dennis Nys, and Fr. Loren Nys, SDS.
Friends may pay respects at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a service officiated by Deacon Michael Dabeck at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
