Krista Finley

Krista L. Finley, 44, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 19, 2024. She was born in Rochester, MN on November 11, 1979, the daughter of Jerry and Betty (Evanson) Finley. She attended Stewartville, Minnesota schools and graduated from Mayo High School in Rochester, Minnesota. Krista held an associate degree from Rochester Community & Technical College and a bachelor’s degree in finance (minor in accounting) from Mankato State University. After college, she worked in finance & retail roles. Most recently she worked in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

As a child Krista enjoyed swimming, ballet, playing the flute, softball, and volleyball. She was always a lover of the outdoors and being active. She enjoyed fishing, boating, and hiking with family and friends. Krista liked to challenge herself with gym workouts and fitness training and was adventurous in her travels. She found pleasure in writing poems, drawing, and creating and viewing artwork. Krista had fun making smores, gingerbread houses and playing games and cards with her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her parents, Betty Finley, Green Bay and Jerry Finley, Stewartville, MN; sister, Laura (Chad) Finley-Opicka, De Pere; brother, Andrew Finley (Ellie Swanson) of Eyota, MN; nieces and nephews: Hudson, Grayson, Sawyer, Evelynn, Katelynn, Haven and paternal grandfather, Jerry V. Finley, Chatfield, MN.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, paternal grandmother, great-grandparents and an uncle.

Per Krista’s wishes a private service was held on Saturday, March 2, at Proko-Wall Funeral Home in Green Bay, WI. Burial in the Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to Krista’s family at www.prokowall.com.

She will be missed & remembered by her family as a girl with a big smile who swam like a fish and didn’t mind getting dirty playing with the frogs, and who became an intelligent, beautiful, courageous woman who was loved very much.
