Linda K. Callesen
Linda K. Callesen, 80, Green Bay, died Saturday, November 26, 2022, at a local hospital surrounded by her family. She was born June 20, 1942, in Champagne, Illinois to the late Kenneth and Mildred (Hendrickson) Berryman. Linda was a 1960 graduate of Lincoln High School in Lincoln, Illinois and continued her education in the Nurses Training Program at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. She married Rev. Dr. Arthur Callesen on June 8, 1963, at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2019.
Linda began her career as a Registered Nurse in Eagle River when Pastor Art took his first call in Three Lakes. In 1972 they moved to Green Bay and Linda began employment at Bornemann Nursing Home and retired as Director of Nursing at Americana West Nursing Home. Linda enjoyed singing in the church choir at Our Saviour Lutheran Church for many years. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends, had a passion for reading and was a true chef in her own kitchen. She was an avid gardener and loved nurturing them throughout the summer. Linda was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church for over 35 years and most recently Faith Lutheran Church in Allouez. Her true pride and joy in life was her family, especially the grandchildren. Linda always looked forward to being with her family, sharing stories and making memories.
Linda is survived by their three children: Christine Zimonick, Green Bay; Jeffrey (Deborah) Callesen, Milwaukee and Mark (Traci) Callesen, De Pere; five grandchildren: Max (Dani) Zimonick, Christian Zimonick and his special friend Maddy, Stella Callesen, Cooper Callesen and his special friend, Aliya and Colten Callesen; her brother, Rod Berryman, Ames, IA; nieces and nephews and Gloria Morgan, her sister from another mother.
She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Carol Berryman.
Friends may call at Faith Lutheran Church, 2335 S. Webster Ave. on Saturday, December 3, from 1:00 -3:15 pm. Funeral Service 3:30 pm Saturday at the church with Rev. Joshua Errer officiating.
