Mary Louise Cieslewicz

Mary Louise Cieslewicz, 77, peacefully passed away on April 18, 2023, at Unity Hospice.  Mary was born on February 6, 1946, in Milwaukee, with her twin brother, Michael, to Frank and Mary (Zaluski) Kabara.  On June 23, 1973, Mary married Henry Cieslewicz at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay.

Mary graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Janesville, WI in 1967.  She had three careers in her lifetime: nursing for 10 years, as a stay-at-home mother for 12 years, retiring from Schneider National after 27 years.  She loved all of her jobs.  Mary enjoyed many amazing trips, both domestically and abroad, with her husband and other fun traveling companions.  Additionally, she loved researching the family’s heritage, connecting with family members located overseas and was a dedicated parishioner of Prince of Peace Church.

Mary is survived by her loving husband Henry; her three devoted sons and loving daughters-in-law, Luke (Sue), Justin (Carie) and Andrew (Alyssa); and two dear grandsons, Joshua and Zachary.  Mary is also survived by two sisters, Sr. Corinne “Ruth” and Carol Kabara; two brothers, Donald and John (Helen) Kabara; and sister-in-law, Dolores Kabara.  Mary is further survived by Henry’s family; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Cyril Cieslewicz, Jim Sigmund, Russ Lotto and Susie Olejniczak, plus numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her twin brother, Mike; her parents, Frank and Mary; her sister-in-law, Judith Kabara; and her stepmother, Sally.  Also, departed are her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Max and Rose Cieslewicz; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alex (Helen), Chet (Irene) (Betty), Sylvester (Kathleen) (Esther), Jerome (Joan), Leonard (Geneva), Joseph (Mary Ann), Joanne Cieslewicz, Margie Sigmund, Gertie Lotto and Fran Olejniczak.

Friends and family may call at Prince of Peace Church, 3425 Willow Road on Monday, April 24th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Dennis Ryan officiating.  Burial will be in at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Cemetery in Poland, WI. On-line condolences may be given at www.prokowall.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to benefit The Salvation Army in memory of Mary as this was an important non-profit organization that assisted with her nursing education.
