Mary Lee Stein, 76, passed away at home unexpectedly with her daughter at her side on Sunday, January 7, 2024. She was born on July 6, 1947, to the late Gerald and Jeanette (Van Rite) Leanna. On December 29, 1968, she married Ronald Stein. Mary went on to have “Irish Twins,” Brenda in 1969 and Brian in 1970. Mary worked at St Vincent’s Hospital, then Ridgeview Nursing Home, and finally retiring from Woodside Lutheran Homes. Mary was blessed with two grandsons, Kyle and Hunter.
Mary will be sadly missed by her “Irish Twins,” Brenda (Scott) Stein and Brian Stein and her beloved grandsons, Kyle and Hunter. She is also survived by her siblings, Gloria (Ken) Wiese, Donna (Mark) Pansier, Pat Leanna, Bill (Donna) Leanna, Ken (Sue) Leanna and sister-in-law, Barb Leanna. Mary is further survived by the Stein side of the family, Howard (Rosie) Stein, Roy Stein, sister-in-law, Kathy Stein, and brother-in-law, Wayne Lemmens.
In addition to her parents and her in-laws, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Ron Stein in 2015, brother Roger Leanna, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger Stein, Jerome Stein, Judy Stein, and Marlene Lemmens; nephew, Bob Gray, and her niece, Heather Stein.
Visitation will be at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m. with Sr. Helen Keyzer officiating.
