Nancy Asplund

Nancy L. Asplund, 84, Green Bay formerly of Suring, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, January 27, 2022.  She was born on August 28, 1937, in Elkhorn, WI to the late Carl and Veronica (Welch) Boutelle.  Nancy graduated from Delavan High School and then attended secretarial school in Milwaukee.  After graduation, she went to work as a legal secretary.  Growing up, she helped in various positions at the Boutelle Bakery in Delavan which was owned by her family.  On May 16, 1959, she married Robert Asplund and then moved to Suring to operate their family dairy farm.  He preceded her in death on June 24, 1994.  Nancy was a very social woman and had an infectious smile and laugh.   She enjoyed music and going to dances.  Nancy liked the theater and supporting local talents.  She was a talented seamstress and stayed active by swimming several days a week.  Nancy loved sports, especially all the Wisconsin teams from local to the pros.  Above all, she loved spending time with her family.  She never missed an opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Nancy found great joy in attending any and all of their activities.

She is survived by her children, Carl (Donna) Asplund, Judy (Keith) Olejniczak, Mary (Dennis) Farwell, Carol (Arnie) Jossie and Jerry (special friend, Kelli) Asplund; grandchildren, Melody Asplund, Samantha Asplund, Casey Asplund, Jocelyn (Jon) Dunks, Blake Olejniczak, Opal Farwell, Ture Farwell, Veronica (Chip) Woodke, Olivia Graves, Victoria Asplund and Robert Asplund; great grandchildren, Malayla, Hendrix and a baby girl due in May, Lily and Milah, Sierra and Dexter; special friend, Tom Dobesh, brother, John (Eileen) Boutelle; sister, Margaret Mary Miller; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and friends, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Pagel.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at the Frostville Cemetery in Suring.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established.
