In the early hours of Tuesday, March 5, 2024, Norbert M. Jadin passed into the arms of Jesus with his devoted wife by his side and family gathered praying the rosary at Woodside Assisted Living. He was born October 10, 1933, on a dairy farm in the Town of Humboldt to the late Edward and Tillie (Vincent) Jadin. Norb graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1951 and St. Norbert College in 1955.   On April 11, 1955, Norb married the former Joan Van Lanen at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bay Settlement where they remain members yet today.

Norb began his career in banking in August of 1955, at Kellogg Citizens National Bank as a teller. He retired from banking on January 31, 1999, as Vice President of Correspondent Banking at Associated Bank following 43 years of service. Following retirement he wrote a book titled “This is my story…. growing up on the farm”. Norb was active in all aspects of parish life at Holy Cross, serving as a parish trustee, Holy Cross school board member, member of the building committee for the gym addition and lectored at Mass for over 40 years. He also served on the Spiritual Life committee and taught religious education.

Norb served as a National Guard reservist for eight years and was also active in the Green Bay community serving as a board member and treasurer from 1969 until November 2015 for Villa West Housing in Green Bay. Norb also was an associate member of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross at Bay Settlement, served on the Green Bay Postal advisory committee and Premontre High School school board.

He loved to play golf, especially when he could golf with his grandchildren. Norb enjoyed a social life with family and friends. He and Joan always looking forward to hosting parties with sing-a-longs, inspiring a book called “Belgian Long-A-Sing”. His family was always his priority and raised them accordingly in the Catholic faith that he practiced every day of his life.

Norb is survived by his wife Joan and their six children: Thomas (Ann) Jadin, Waupaca; Julie (Robert) Sperber, Green Bay; Ronald (JoAnn) Jadin, Burlington; Daniel (Dawn) Jadin, New Franken; Cathy (Rick) Ripley and Michael (Lynn) Jadin, all Green Bay; 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brother, Gerald (Sandy) Jadin; two sisters, Donna (John) Daniels and Linda (Larry) Puyleart; his in-laws: Dolores Van Lanen; Jane Van Lanen; Jim (Barb) Van Lanen and John Van Lanen (Fiancée, Lynne) nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Fr. Samuel Jadin, O.Praem; sister, Bernice (Clarence) Rukamp; great granddaughter, Lauren Sperber; his in-laws, Edward and Cecilia Van Lanen; four brothers-in-law: Bob (Janice) Baumgart; Thomas Van Lanen; Patrick Van Lanen and Robert Van Lanen.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. on Tuesday, March 12, from 4:00-8:00 pm. Parish wake service 7:30 pm Tuesday. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3009 Bay Settlement Rd. from 9:30-10:45 am. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Wednesday at the church, with his grandson, Fr. Kevin Ripley and Abbot Gary Neville O.Praem concelebrating. Burial in the church cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to Norb’s family at www.prokowall.com. In lieu of floral expressions, memorial donations in Norbert’s name will be used to support the Holy Cross School and the St. Anthony of Padua Chapel.

Norberts family would like to thank the caregivers at Woodside Assisted Living for their love and compassion given to Norbert during his stay.  Also a special thank you to Unity Hospice for their comfort and care.
