Patricia Metzler (nee Martin) was born to George and Alice (Greatens) Martin on May 31, 1935, in Luxemburg, WI and spent most of the next 85 years in various locales in Wisconsin until her final home at Lakeview Healthcare Center in West Salem, WI. She went on peacefully to join her mother and father, stepsister Sally Martin-Egge and her spouse Francis Metzler, on May 19, 2021.
Pat married Fran on Feb.15,1958, and worked beside him and their children in many family businesses including 3 IGA stores, a bar/bowling alley and a drive-in with mini golf. In later years, she assisted Fran with his insurance business. She also cashiered at Shopko stores for many years.
Throughout all of her travels, moves, and adventures, Pat exemplified a kind and caring spirit to all living beings, human and animal alike. She would never let any being go hungry. She loved to cook, bake, garden, and fish with her sons but most of all Pat loved her family including her children Pamela Fellenz (Matt), Timothy Metzler (Meg), Todd Metzler (Debbie), and Edward Metzler (Beth) and all of her grandchildren, Morgan, Margaret, Jack, Finnian, Maeve, Dustin, Jon, Kayla, Jennifer, Jordan, Adam and Nate. Pat’s living siblings are Ken (Diane) Martin and James Martin, as well as her nieces Lisa, Elizabeth, and nephew Tony.
Our family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Lakeview Healthcare Center, 962 E. Garland St, West Salem, WI for the best care, love and companionship over the last 5 years of Pat’s life. Memorials can be sent there in Pat’s memory.
A Celebration of Life and Sharing of Memories will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Proko-Wall Funeral Home.
